DOVE uses a revolutionary deep ultraviolet (DUV) technology at a wavelength of 220 nm that induces different luminescent responses in diamonds depending on their origin. Natural diamonds fluoresce blue under DUV and do not exhibit phosphorescence, while synthetic diamonds either fluoresce non-blue (purple, orange, yellow, green) or exhibit phosphorescence.
