GEMMODUL® Module 3 LED

The GEMMODUL® Module 3 LED is a specialized lighting base for gemological refractometers. It provides monochromatic illumination 589 nm (peak wavelength), which helps to provide a clear and high-contrast reading, while also placing the refractometer in comfortable working heights above the work surface.

• Electronic dimmer: allows you to adjust the intensity according to the refractometer optics, ambient light and operator preferences.

• Precise alignment to the light port: The lighting is attached to ball joint, so that both the height and the angle of incidence can be adjusted for different refractometer designs.

• Protection against tipping/damage: two self-adhesive fixing elements ("adapter plugs") are attached to the underside of the refractometer; after being placed on the Module 3 LED they snap into the stand and reduce the risk of tipping and falling.

• Robust construction: aluminum profile for long-term use, including more demanding off-road operation.

What is the Module 3 LED suitable for?

• Standardized illumination for refractometric measurements (589 nm): Monochromatic light peaking at 589 nm promotes a clear and contrasted image of the shadow line on the refractometer scale and facilitates more accurate readings.
• Increasing the repeatability of readings in different conditions: Electronic intensity control allows you to stably set the optimal brightness for the specific refractometer optics and ambient lighting, which limits the influence of a variable “improvised” light source on the result.
• Flexible integration with various types of refractometers: The ball joint allows precise adjustment of the direction and angle of light incidence into the light port, so the module can be used effectively even with different device geometries and different workplace layouts.
• Safer handling and stability on the workbench: Snap-on self-adhesive fixation elements increase stability during normal work, reduce the risk of the instrument tipping over and help protect the refractometer from damage due to accidental contact or displacement.
• Building a modular gemological workplace: Suitable as part of a systematically assembled GEMMODUL test station where reproducible measurement conditions and ergonomic instrumentation layout are required.
